Interfaith Initiative

Peace is a common aspiration for humanity, a shared value for religions and a core goal of United Nations. Inter-Faith Initiative is the recognition of all human beliefs, for peaceful co-existence. Inter-Faith Initiative exists because religion is valuable and all faiths deserve mutual respect in our society. Where you have religion intolerance, extremism; culture of peace would be eluded.

Religion diversity is not the problem of humanity in the society but, because humanity lacks the knowledge of religion pluralism to some extent and that is the cause of most religion superiority and intolerance. Inter-Faith initiates religion pluralism where you have cooperation, interactions, tolerance among people of different religions. For the society to experience lasting peace, Inter-Faith initiative must become the machinery of religion pluralism in the society.

In fact, the long term vision of the United Nations Decade of Inter-Religious and Intercultural Dialogue, understanding and cooperation for Peace is for a genuine and lasting Peace that will be deeply rooted in diverse people’s Spiritual beliefs and cultures as well as in the hearts of all human beings.

Don’t forget that, genuine Peace encompasses the following:
• Equitable, caring and harmonious societies
• Respect for and adherence to human rights
• Respect for all manifestation of life
• Justice for all
• Economics of sharing rather than economics of excess and greed
• The appreciation of people’s cultural and spiritual diversities
• Dialogue replacing all forms of violence for preventing and resolving conflicts
• Care for Earth and sustainable development.
